READ ME: I am fairly new to film photography and I’m sure there are countless older guys and a handful of niche younger guys who could write something a bit more thorough. This review/impressions series is NOT about the professional specs of the camera, but more so the usability, any quirks, and if I enjoyed it enough to keep using it. A real world, practical review from the perspective of a digital photographer.

Logic behind purchase: I was traveling in Wales and had first considered bringing my Pentax Spotmatics with me, but decided against that to save weight. Instead I brought a variety of primes and my Nikon autofocus kit.

Upon arriving in Wales I realized I did really want (maybe not need, but a strong want) a film camera so I popped into the “closest” local store (some might say the last camera store in Wales, Cambrian Photography.

They were well reviewed and I initially went into the shop looking for some sort of Canon FD mount film camera to use my 50mm and 200mm primes with (since I already had them with me). The salesperson brought down two models and after we both looked at…
